Seed Project Manager

Are you a farmer who is familiar with native plants and can manage a budget? If so you’re a rare bird and this job is for you!  Successful applicant will manage our seed farm and seed collection services with an eye toward growth. 

 Native West Nursery is a leading native plant nursery in California and growing quickly through our reputation for technical knowledge, quality, and customer satisfaction. We are adding talent to our team looking for someone to be our Seeds Project Manager.

 Successful applicant will be knowledgeable and passionate about plants native to the southwest. They will be able to design and implement a seed farm and be comfortable getting their hands dirty. They will also be organized in the office and be able to manage budgets and client communication.

 Position requirements

Valid and clean CA Driver’s License

Work in full sun, inclement weather

Some physical labor moving and maintaining plants

Ability to lift 50lbs

Occasional speaking opportunities engaging the community

Organized, driven, self-starter

Customer service oriented

Work well with an established team

Familiar with plant botanical names

Familiar with southern California native plant communities

Available to work Saturday

Nice to have

Bilingual English/ Spanish

Farming experience

Habitat restoration/ecology experience

Bachelor’s degree

Hours

Full time around 40 hours per week.

Pay

$18-$24 per hour to start, depending on experience

Paid sick, vacation and holidays

Company contributed medical, dental and vision insurance

Discretionary annual profit sharing
